Kathryn Rowland developed Sing!ChoirsTMwhich provides opportunity for people to sing in a choir regardless of their experience. Starting with one choir in 2011 there are now 4 choirs that meet each week with over 250 people in total. Choirs are open to all ages and no previous experience is needed. Kathryn directs the choirs which range in size from 40 to 100 members. Browse through this website to see how you can join a choir, or contact Kathryn if you are interested in Sing! She is also an expert in Early Years Music delivery and has worked in many early years settings, also working alongside the members of staff to develop their skills. In March 2012 Kathryn received an "Outstanding" from Ofsted for her early years work. Kathryn is currently employed by Essex County Council working on the "Clatter and Natter" initiative, which targets settings with children who need additional support with language development as well as working with the staff to develop their skills in music delivery. She works regularly in several Cambridge City Council settings, plus settings linked to Cambridge University. Kathryn also works with Hertfordshire Music Service as part of the Early Years Advisory Committee for East Anglia.
Kathryn has also facilitated music workshops for London Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Philharmonia Orchestra, Cambridge Music Festival and Britten Sinfonia. These workshops have focused on early years and primary schools, as well as older people.
She also works on an annual project with Shooting Star CHASE Children's Hospice where alongside other professional musicians, she creates music with life-limited children, and also bereaved siblings.
Over the past 15 years Kathryn has also initiated projects, and fundraised for significant amounts, in settings such as prisons, hospitals, schools, youth clubs, dementia care homes, pupil referral units and early years settings. Kathryn has managed projects for Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Southbank Centre, Trinity Laban, Wigmore Hall, amongst others.
Jason Rowland is a workshop leader, composer, presenter and musician who has directed hundreds of creative projects across Great Britain. He has worked with a wide range of ensembles from small groups to large scale collaborations with performances including over 300 musicians and singers.
He produces all the backing tracks and arrangements for Sing! Choirs. Each song is arranged for the choir according to voice, as no two choirs are the same.
Jason is currently working on projects with the Royal Opera House, Philharmonia Orchestra, Trinity Laban Conservatoire for Music and Dance and London Philharmonic Orchestra, and is looking forward to his annual residency at Shooting Star CHASE Children’s Hospice, and also leads classes for Music to Grow to, an early years initiative in Cambridgeshire.
